My Top 10 Disney World Tips

Disney tips

We are a Disney loving family and have been many times, so I wanted to share my top 10 Disney World Tips to help your trip be the best it can be!

#1 Hire a travel agent!! Disney travel agents are free to you and they help so much! Ours was incredible, and gave tips all along the planning process. And we had a glitch with our memory maker photo pass photos and she got on the phone with Disney while we were there and got it resolved for us!

#2 Get Genie plus if you can swing it in your budget, check out ear scouts for great tutorial videos on how to best utilize it.

#3 We also found a new app called Standby Skipper, it’s an app that is an additional purchase but it books your genie plus lightening lanes for you! You purchase Genie and then go to skipper & put in the rides you want and it books when available. Still takes a bit of strategy but helped us not be on our phones constantly. It booked rides while we were eating or riding and enjoying! Took a lot of the stress out! They also have a Facebook group that’s super helpful as well.

#4 If using a stroller, put all your smaller bags, & water bottles in a larger bag you can fold up & put under the stroller to make getting on transportation easier at the start and end of your day.

#5 Highly recommend either rope dropping (being there before park open to be one of the first on the rides) or riding rides at the end of the day or both, lines are shortest at these times of the day.

#6 If you can fit it in your budget, add a rest day in the middle of your trip. We opted to stay at a value resort so that we could add in a rest day to recover from a couple days in the parks. We also took this day to do a character breakfast, Resort hop and spend some time at our pool.

#7 Follow Disney influencers for food and up to date park info, my faves on Instagram: disney_foodie_girl, Disneyfoodblog, Disney hungry, Well hello Magic, Living by Disney, Chip & co. And you can follow me on there too for more travel fun and tips at ShineBrightTravels

#8 Make a loose game plan for each of your park days of your top 3-5 things that you want to make sure you do and then list other things you would like to do if there’s time, that will help you prioritize and make sure you make the most of your park days.

#9 Don’t get the dining or experience reservations you want? There are sites and apps that search for you; Some good ones are the stakeout app, Mouse dining website and touring plans website. They have free and paid options. Keep the my Disney experience site open on your phone to the specific restaurant or experience you are wanting pulled up on your browser so you can snag those quick when you get an alert, a lot open up a couple days before or the day of too so keep checking!

#10 You can get grocery delivery to your room if flying or if driving was super helpful to pack the following: some snacks for waiting in lines, bottled water for refilling our reusable bottles in the room to take to the parks (love this mickey reusable water bottle), dish soap and bottle brush to clean out our resort cups and water bottles, also foaming hand soap for the room. Ziploc bags were super helpful to pack things in our bags for the parks, (Amazon has Mickey ones) oh and these Mickey handheld rechargeable fans were a life saver!
