I visited San Diego for a leadership conference for my Color Street nail and make-up business. After we learned so much amazingness at our conference, we had one afternoon and evening to explore San Diego! We wanted to explore as many places as possible in that short time but at the same time take our time at each spot. So here are my top San Diego sights to see in just one day!
Before I get to that, let me highlight our resort. We stayed at the Mission Bay Resort which was so beautiful! They had great customer service and loved the water views and access to the walking path along the water right from the pool area at the back of the resort. Plus this resort wasn’t super spread out and so easy to navigate.
We started our tour of San Diego at Old Town which was so charming! We felt like we stepped back in time visiting the Rust General Store. It had old timey candies and really unique toys and decor. They also had a cafe and I tried the Prickly Pear Lemonade, and it was soooo delicious! It was perfectly sweet and so pretty too!
We loved walking around all the shops and enjoying all the beautiful flowers and scenery as well!
Next we went to Balboa Park and felt like we stepped into a European town. From the amazing architecture and structures to the street performers and food carts, it was so charming and beautiful. I could have stayed here all day! After we walked around taking in the breathtaking views of the buildings and watching some of the street performers, we enjoyed a fresh churro! It was melt in your mouth delicious.
Lastly we ventured to Little Italy for dinner. It was the cutest area with street seating and a plaza and little shops.
We ate at a seafood restaurant called Ironside Fish and Oyster and I was skeptical at first glance of the menu. But it had such a cool vibe and was so well themed I thought we would give it a shot. Let me tell you that’s the best Lobster Roll I have ever had! So buttery and just the right amount of seasoning, it was heavenly! And the truffle fries were perfectly crisp on the outside and tender on the inside. My friend Brooke ordered the octopus and offered for us to try and I was scared but went for it, and it was actually so delicious! It just tasted like amazing fish and had such great flavors from the sauces and sausage it was paired with. Highy recommend this restaurant!
These are my top 3 places to explore if you just have one day in San Diego! I’m hoping to go back for a visit soon to stay a few more days to visit the zoo and La Jolla.
